Thomas Phelan, CPA, the president and CEO of IWIF Workers’ Compensation Insurance, has been appointed president of the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds. AASCIF is an international association comprised of statutorily created workers’ compensation insurance companies from 26 states in the U.S. and eight workers’ compensation boards in Canada.
During his two-year term as president, which becomes effective Jan. 1, Phelan will be responsible for overseeing the association’s executive committee and operational needs.
